grupa twórcza
presents:

A way to make films and… eggplant salads, or in other words, a way to completely lose ourselves in passion, letting the madness of filmmaking carry us, breaking our everyday constraints and limitations. A way to feel united with the whole crew, activate our sense of humor and let imagination carry us...

The Grupa Twórcza was established and will never fall.

An informal organization that external forces tried to detract from its main purpose by involving it in the 48HFP contest in Warsaw. They tried and succeeded, however briefly. Our struggle in other areas continues!

The Grupa Twórcza is a mighty machine. It took just 14 people to start it up for the “Salad”. Just 14?! That’s because they all brought an incredible potential without which it wouldn’t have been possible!

Presenting our crew and cast in alphabetical order:

Radek Duda – set manager, Cook, driver and super friend!
Piotr Grabowski - actor
Olga Jurek - executive producer
Filip Kuncewicz - composer
Magdalena Lamparska - actress
Jacek Plichta - sound engineer
Hubert Pusek - editor
Arek Stani - cinematographer
Jola Stefańska - costume and make-up artist
Jarosław Witaszczyk - actor
Marek Zawadka - photographer (a real nutter!)

Our movies

We wanted to write something about our productions, but… a film by the Grupa Twórcza speaks louder than a thousand words. Enjoy the show!

Eggplant Salad

A short, abstract and humorous story ripe with erotic tension and riddles. Is this reality or just a mad writer`s vision? A tense relationship between a writer, his butler and his housekeeper, underscored by excellent music, a sensual tango, and… walking a goat on the streets of Warsaw.

Timeline

Unbelievable how much work
can go into a timeline so short...

  • Establishment of Creative Group

Historians are not in agreement here. It was probably April 1, but the year remains a mystery. Intrigued by this sociologically important problem, popular writer Tadeusz T. offered to help. This valued documentarian, born in the former eastern provinces of pre-war Poland, is today the Group`s (Grupy Twórczej) only hope.

As part of the 48 HFP Warsaw contest, the Grupa Twórcza had to put its other creative activities on hold to take on this challenge. The premise was as follows: on October 21 during the Kick, the following project guidelines were given: the protagonist – Teresa or Tadeusz Turoń, a writer; the stage prop - an eggplant, and the obligatory piece of dialogue – “put on your glasses, because I’ll be dancing in flames”. It’s worth noting that Piotr Grabowski, our invaluable performer of the role of the writer, believes the dialogue pertained to dancing in the dark. But we’ll talk about this another time.

We applied the numerical lottery system and an uninspiring theory of probability to choose the genre for our production (which we had already pre-planned). We would make it a musical. Oh, and another requirement was to show a “clearly identifiable part of Warsaw”.

During a quiet evening meeting we applied the required enhancers to create our script.

22.10.2011 A new, beautiful day dawned strangely quick, with not all of us capable of operating mechanical vehicles due to the blinding sunlight. The evening came equally quickly, where in a calm and fully controlled atmosphere we finalized our carefully thought-out shots:

Yet another new day dawned on us on Sunday, October 23. This strangely familiar situation prompted us to visit the city center where we walked our goat.

In the evening, just before the deadline, we confidently handed our production to the organizers.
